On-site impedance measurement is a critical method for obtaining the wideband impedance of renewable energy (RE) units
conducting impedance analysis
and solving oscillation problems. AC cables serve as the connection channel between the impedance measurement device and the unit under test. However
their influence on impedance measurement and oscillation analysis remains unclear. This paper first establishes an analytical impedance model for the RE aggregation unit that incorporates AC cable parameters. It then analyzes the impedance-dominant frequency band of the AC cables
revealing the influence of cable parameters on the phase and damping characteristics of the measured impedance. Next
considering different grid conditions
the influence of AC cables on stability margins and oscillation analysis results is analyzed. Finally
a case study of a photovoltaic (PV) power station is presented
and an impedance measurement method for eliminating the influence of AC cables is proposed.
