Chinese Students Formula competition has attracted more than 50 colleges and universities
which has greatly enhanced the designing and manufacturing capabilities of the students in the schools. In order to shorten the designing time of formula SAE racing cars and to design the compliant model quickly and efficiently
the dynamic simulation on software ADAMS was used to establish a Chinese university students formula SAE (FSAE) vehicle model
and the handling stability of the car was simulated and analyzed. The main points and process of the establishment of multi-body dynamics model in the ADAMS were introduced
and the accuracy of the model was verified by comparing it with the actual results in the competition. By testing and simulating the handing stability of the virtual prototype
the score was evaluated with the combination of the standard QC/T480-1999. The experimental results show that this design meets the designing requirements because the formula racing car model has the obvious characteristic of under steering.
