To investigate the excitation sources and transfer path of turbo-generator components
an operational transfer path analysis(OTPA) model is established by using the vibration data of generator components under stable operating conditions as input and output signals. Then
singular value decomposition(SVD) technology is used to solve the transfer rate matrix. It is determined that the model does not omit important excitation source and transfer path by multi-coherence analysis based on partial coherence function. The accuracy of the model is verified by comparing the synthesized signal with measured signal. Based on the OTPA model
the effective vibration contribution of different excitation points to target points is analyzed. The excitation source contribution factor is proposed to analyze the contribution of different excitation sources to target points. Two turbo-generators in a nuclear power station suffered serious vibration fault. Considering overhaul plans of the nuclear power station
the comprehensive treatment measures for vibration fault are formulated by using the OTPA. It shows that the vibration faults of the two generators are successfully eliminated. The application of the OTPA method can improve the efficiency of generator vibration fault treatment.
