Nuclear power turbine island operation capability is very important for nuclear power units
but little research has been done on nuclear power turbine island operation simulation and rotor stress. In order to realize the analysis of rotor stress and simulation under island operation in nuclear power turbine
100% PN and 50%PN load shedding to island operation conditions in a nuclear power turbine is simulated based on MATLAB and the rotor stress under both conditions is numerically simulated based on ANSYS
focusing on the simulation results of the speed rise
the centrifugal stress field of the rotor at the highest speed under both conditions and the transient thermal stress field of the rotor during the island operation. The results show that
under 100%PN load shedding to island operation condition
the maximum speed rise reaches 1 574.78 r/min and the maximum centrifugal stress reaches 168.09 MPa
which occurs at the end of the medium-pressure stage. The thermal stress increases gradually with time
and the maximum stress appears at the root of the turbine wheel after the second stage of the high pressure rotor. The maximum stress value is less than the permissible stress of the rotor material at the corresponding temperature
