In order to explore the effect of molten Sn anode of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) on pyrolysis characteristics and electrochemical parameters of biomass
by taking pine sawdust as the research object
the electrochemical performance of the pine sawdust and its pyrolysis products (gases and liquids) on the molten Sn anode were detected. The results show that
the molten Sn increased the release of H_2 by 130.1%and decreased the yield of carbonaceous gases (CO
CO_2 and CH_4) by 40.4%during sawdust pyrolysis.Compared with the conventional Ni/YSZ anode
the impedance of Sn anode for pine sawdust and its char increased by 45%
resulting in that the initial current density only reduced to 0.243 A/cm~2.For the gas and liquid products of pine sawdust
Sn O_2 accumulated at the anode due to its low solubility in the molten Sn
and the decay rate of discharge current was 1.922×10~(–5) A/(cm~2·s).Through the scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS) analysis
it found that the accumulated carbon suspended on the upper layer of the molten Sn
so Sn can avoid the damage of carbon deposition to the anode layer.
