photovoltaic and other new energy are usually difficult to meet the requirements of fault ride through performance when the grid side voltage suddenly rises
that is
they do not have the ability of high voltage ride through(HVRT). In this paper
hybrid energy storage system(HESS) composed of battery and super capacitor is used to improve the HVRT capability of new energy. The power factor priority control strategy is adopted in the battery converter control system to give priority to the output of reactive power and suppress the fluctuation of bus voltage. The power feed-forward control strategy is adopted in the control system of super capacitor converter
and the unbalanced energy of DC side can be absorbed quickly in the process of new energy HVRT by using its fast charging and discharging characteristics. In the battery converter control system
reactive power priority control strategy is adopted to output reactive power and suppress bus voltage fluctuation. Aiming at the problem that conventional new energy storage HVRT improves reactive power output at the cost of sacrificing active power
this paper proposes a method to estimate reactive current reference value according to the voltage rise amplitude of HVRT
so as to improve the capability of new energy HVRT on the premise of keeping the active power output unchanged. Finally
the above control strategy is simulated by MATLAB/Simulink to verify that the new energy system with HESS has HVRT capability.
