To cope with climate change and achieve China's carbon neutral goal
we must continue to promote energy conservation and emission reduction of coal-fired power generation and the rapid development of new energy sources. However
a large amount of unpredictable renewable energy incorporates into the grid
which will inevitably force thermal power plants to participate fully in deep peak-shaving. Based on the development of China's power industry and energy structure
16 academicians in the energy field jointly drafted the proposal of Suggestions on Promoting the Upgrading of Coal-fired Power Generation Industry
Strengthening the Deep Peak-shaving Capacity of Units
and Improving the Consumption Level of Renewable Energy to Advent Energy Saving and Emission Reduction to support China's national strategy of energy conservation
emission reduction and carbon neutrality. Based on the systematic research of the theories
technologies and industrial development of coal-fired power generation
this paper puts forward the following suggestions. 1) Exergy balance system of thermal power generation covering fuel
combustion
heat transfer
power cycle and cold end should be established based on the modern energy-saving theory with comprehensive and efficient utilization of energy grade
to provide a scientific basis for exploring the development direction of energy-saving technology for coal-fired power generation. 2) lowload condition efficiency-preserving technology should be developed based on state reconstruction of thermal system of coal-fired generating units
to realize deep peak-shaving and high efficiency energy saving of coal-fired generating units simultaneously. 3) Modern high-efficiency cogeneration technology of "power determined by demand" and "energy level matching" in peak shaving for cogeneration units should be developed
to ensure the supply of heat and steam
and high efficiency of the system. By comprehensively promoting the upgrading of the coal-fired power generation industry
it will facilitate the smooth implementation of China's national strategy of energy conservation
