In order to analyze the primary frequency modulation function of the improved million kilowatt level pressurized water reactor nuclear power technology(CRP1000) turbogenerator set in China
the primary frequency modulation ability of the Arabelle turbine generator set
which has the largest number in operation at present
is preliminarily analyzed according to the characteristics of East China Power Grid and the primary frequency modulation demand of the grid connected unit. On the premise of ensuring the safety of the reactor
two units were selected to carry out the primary frequency modulation function test. The results show that
the primary frequency modulation response time
the primary frequency modulation stability time and the primary frequency modulation load response speed of the Arabelle nuclear turbine generator set under typical working conditions all meet the requirements of the primary frequency modulation rules of East China Power Grid. The response of the unit to large negative frequency difference on high power platform may lead to load rejection
which will bring adverse effects on the power grid. When the frequency difference of the power grid changes step by step
the primary frequency modulation response of the unit with large speed inequality rate is slow. It suggests that the primary frequency modulation strategy in different stages should be formulated according to the characteristics of each nuclear power unit.
