Energy efficiency control of power generation enterprises is an important factor affecting business performance and fulfilling corporate social responsibility. Scientific energy efficiency evaluation is an important basic work for energy efficiency management of power generation enterprises. This paper discusses the applicability of the factor analysis-DEA(data envelopment analysis) combination evaluation model to the energy efficiency evaluation of power generation enterprises
and uses the factor analysis-DEA combination evaluation model to empirically evaluate and compare the energy efficiency levels of China's five major power generation groups. The results show that
the combined evaluation method can overcome the problem of over high correlation between the evaluation indicators caused by the number of evaluation objects less than the number of indicators in the commonly used evaluation methods. At the same time
it fully considers the undesired output in the input-output indicator system. The impact makes the results more scientific and reasonable. This method is generally applicable to the field of efficiency evaluation and can provide more accurate information feedback for decision makers.
