Facilities in coastal power stations employing seawater as circulating cooling agent are more prone to scaling and corrosion. As a result
comprehensive evaluation should be carried out on the scale inhibitors used in seawater from various aspects to provide guidance for the subsequent dynamic tests and actual applications. In this study
three kinds of scale inhibitors including inhibitor A
inhibitor B and inhibitor C were selected and their physical and chemical performance
biodegradability
capacity of scale inhibition
compatibility of biocide and economy were compared. The results show that
the inhibitor C has a better comprehensive performance than inhibitor A and inhibitor B. Moreover
with a concentration ratio lower than 2.2
significant salt accumulation can be avoided
which ensures the system safety. This method is of high reference value for evaluating nuclear power plants
selecting scale inhibitor and ascertaining the parameters of seawater circulating cooling process.
