A two-dimensional numerical model of the electrostatic precipitator(ESP) is built up
which includes corona electric field
flow field
particle charge and motion field. By adopting the finite element software Comsolmultiphysics
the numerical simulation is carried out. Moreover
on the basis of MINITAB software
full factorial experiments are designed
and the effects of factors such as discharge electrode radius
anode plate spacing
discharge electrode spacing
voltage and particle diameter on performance of the electrostatic precipitator are investigated. The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results of the disclosed corona electric field and dust removal efficiency. The first three factors that have the greatest influence on the dust removal efficiency
corona current and power are the voltage V
anode plate spacing W and their interaction effect W×V. Through normality test
the insignificant factors are removed
and an effective response factor regression equation reflecting the performance evaluation index of electrostatic precipitator is constructed
which can predict the dust removal performance of electrostatic precipitator. The research results are of great significance for the design of energy efficient electrostatic precipitators.
