The polarization characteristics of TP304 stainless steel heat exchanger in urban reclaimed water were studied by potentiodynamic cyclic polarization test. The pitting critical Cl~– mass concentration of TP304 heat pipe and heat plate in urban reclaimed water at 95 ℃ were obtained. Moreover
the effects of metal surface roughness and urban reclaimed water pH value on pitting corrosion sensitivity of the TP304 heat exchanger tube were investigated. The results show that
the pitting corrosion sensitivity of the TP304 stainless steel increased with the Cl~– mass concentration. The surface state of the TP304 steel and the pH value of the urban reclaimed water had a significant effect on the critical Cl~– mass concentration of pitting corrosion. With the increase of metal surface roughness and the decrease of the pH value of urban reclaimed water
the critical Cl~– mass concentration of pitting corrosion decreased sharply.
