Abstract
In order to solve the volatility problem of renewable energy grid-connected power generation
based on the reason analysis for low efficiency of the energy storage system composed of water electrolysis and simple hydrogen-oxygen cycle
a new type of energy storage system framework which combines high-pressure water electrolysis and high-pressure
high-temperature turbine cycle technology is proposed. This system converts the electric energy generated by renewable energy during low period into the chemical and pressure energy of hydrogen and oxygen and stores the energy by means of high-pressure water electrolysis technology. During the peak period of grid power consumption
the compressed hydrogen and oxygen enter the combustor for staged combustion
and the generated steam passes through the turbine to do work
driving the generator to generate electricity
thereby replenishing the electricity back to grid. The analysis shows that the energy conversion efficiency of the improved energy storage system is 6% higher than that of the simple hydrogen-oxygen cycle
