Numerical simulation of mixed burning of petroleum coke in a circulating fluidized bed(CFB) boiler in a petrochemical plant was carried out
and the distribution of flow field
temperature field and component field in the furnace under conditions with different operating parameters and mixing ratios were discussed. The simulation results show that
the flow field of the "ring core" of the furnace shifts from the front wall to the backwall with the increase of the primary air volume and the decrease of the secondary air volume. The ideal central "ring core"flow will form and the erosion and abrasion of the water wall may be alleviated when the ratio of air to coal reaches 8:1 and the air distributor ratio as well as the primary air ratio and secondary air ratio are 62.5%
12.5% and 25%
respectively. Co-firing the petroleum coke postpones the ignition of the coal
but the combustion of the coke is aggravated and the concentration of CO_2 increases. The role of petroleum coke in high calorific value and low volatility is highlighted with the increase of mixing proportion of petroleum coke
the temperature in the furnace increases and the high temperature region expands and moves upward. Actually
controlling the mixing rate within 50% and keeping appropriate volume of the primary and secondary air is conducive to safe operation of the boiler.
