The study compares two boiler efficiency calculation methods

the GB/T 10184—2015 and GB/T 10184—1988

and puts forward four differences between the two standards in the reference temperature regulations

excess air coefficient revisions

and boiler heat loss processing. Through the comparison of the calculation results of two standards for boiler efficiency test of a 300 MW and 600 MW boiler

it is concluded that the source of the difference is the difference in the reference temperature and the introduction of external heat. The research results have guiding significance for the boiler efficiency test and energy-saving economical operation of thermal power plants.
