Taking powder of activated carbon(PAC)and polyurethane foaming agent as the main raw materials
a new type highly efficient sorbent for humic acid(HA)has been prepared
and influence of the pH value in HA solution
the initial concentration of HA solution
the dosage and absorbing time of the PAC foamer upon the adsorbing process and effectiveness being investigated. It has been discovered from the test that:the adsorption equilibrium time of PAC foamer for HA is 5 h;the 10% PAC foamer has comparatively high adsorbing efficiency under acidic conditions(pH value is 3.5 to 5.3);in the event of the initial concentration of HA is less than to mg/L
its adsorbing efficiency is up to 94%
while the initial concentration of HA is in a range of 20~40 mg/L
the adsorbing efficiency is 60%~85%.The results of test show that the PAC foamer is a new and highly efficient sorbent
boasting very good adsorbing effectiveness for HA in natural water under acidic conditions;the absorption of PAC foamer for HA tallies well with the langmuir model.
