The proximate analysis has been carried out for Lengshuijiang coal and lean coal from Zheng-zhou Minerial Agency with four different particle sizes. Then
the samples are used for thermogravimetric test under condition of temperature rise rate to be 20℃/min
and the gas flow rate to be 65 mL/min. The results show that: the maximum combustion rate and ignition of the pulverized coal occurred more early along with the particle size of coal being decreased; the ignition temperature and burnout temperature all have decreased; the activation energy of pulverized coal has reduced
the complex characteristic index of combustion has been enhanced
