To investigate the effect of ionic liquid(IL) additive on the thermoelectric properties of poly(3
4 ethylenedioxythiophene):poly styrene sulfonate(PEDOT:PSS) films
a series of PEDOT:PSS/IL films with different IL contents were prepared
their electric conductivity and Seebeck coefficient were charaterized and the performance of thermoelectric device was analyzed. The results indicated that the highest conductivity of PEDOT:PSS/IL films was 384 S/cm at 50% IL content
the Seebeck coefficient reached 28.1 μV/K
and the power factor was up to 30.3 μW(m·K~2) at room temperature
which was much higher than that of the pristine PEDOT:PSS films. The test results of the thermoelectric devices showed that the maximum output power generated was 0.54 nW at a temperature difference of 10 K. This study showed that the ionic liquid could effectively enhance the thermoelectric properties of the PEDOT:PSS films
and can be used in flexible thermoelectric generator.
