The scintillation detector has been widely used in the field of nuclear radiation measurement. In the scintillation
photo multiplier tubes often used to measure optical signals from the interaction between rays and sensitive materials. The parameter of the photo multiplier tube is vital to improve the precision of the scintillation detector and the development of new materials. According to the working principle of photo multiplier tube
established the functions of single photo electron response
built experimental equipment
completed test of the dark current response and single photo electron response
achieved the aims of detecting dark current and single photo electron in normal temperature environment. Drawing by origin8.0
the results show that the amplitude of dark current response or single photo electron response increases with the increase of voltage from 600 V to 1 200 V. The times of dark noise response pulse is least when amplitude is 1 000 V. So
the photo multiplier is most stable. The best working voltage of experiment is in 1 000 V.
