The faults in the north part of Xiangshan volcano basin has long been concern. For poor field evidences
there also has different outlook on the feather of the faults so far. Based on detailed analysis on the existing regional structure and the results of previous studies
the feathers of the near east-west trend faults have been studied through outcrop investigation and trench profiles
combined with the analysis of drilling data in recent years. It has been present in this paper that the near east-west trend faults in north part Xiangshan volcano basin is a series of faults with similar feather
high angle
south dipping reverse fault. The time of the formation of these faults is earlier than that of the early Cretaceous volcano activity.
