A novel voice coil motor(VCM)isolator structure for a Stewart vibration isolation platform was proposed to address the susceptibility of precision instruments to multi-dimensional vibration interference under vehicular transportation conditions. First
the maximum stroke and maximum output force of the isolator were determined based on the dynamic model of the isolation platform and the vehicular vibration environment. To overcome the limitations of existing voice coil motors in bearing static loads and lacking guiding mechanisms
a triple-plate spring assembly with high radial stiffness and low axial stiffness was employed as both the load-bearing and guiding element. The dimensions of each motor component were established through theoretical calculations
and the motor performance was analyzed using finite element simulations. The analysis indicates that the designed VCM isolator achieves high average output force and low thrust fluctuation within the effective working stroke
thereby satisfying the design requirements. Finally
a motor prototype test platform was constructed for static output force experiments. The force-displacement curves obtained from the experiments were observed to exhibit the same trend and were found to closely match the extreme points of the simulation curves
by which correctness of the structural design and the accuracy of the electromagnetic simulation were verified. This structure presents a novel design scheme for isolators applied to vehicular vibration isolation platforms.
