To address the electromagnetic vibration issue of rim-driven thruster with magnetized permanent magnet motors
the influence of partition-between-poles Halbach topology on the electromagnetic vibration of rim-driven thruster permanent magnet motors was conducted. Finite element models were established for three surface-mounted propulsion motors adopting partition-between-poles Halbach magnetization
Halbach magnetization
and radial magnetization. Finite element analysis was conducted on the cogging torque
torque ripple
no-load back electromotive force
and their harmonic orders. Based on analytical equations for transient radial electromagnetic force density and air-gap radial magnetic flux density
the main force wave components and harmonic orders of electromagnetic vibration were analyzed
and stator mode shapes and natural frequencies were calculated. The results show that the permanent magnet motor with partition-between-poles Halbach magnetization topology not only exhibits a more ideal sinusoidal distribution of air-gap magnetic flux density but also demonstrates a more significant suppression effect on electromagnetic forces of radial orders 32

and 128 at time orders of 2x
4x
6x
and 8x. Additionally
the vibration acceleration amplitude at the main excitation frequencies is significantly reduced. The research provides a theoretical reference for suppressing electromagnetic vibration in rim-driven thruster permanent magnet motors.
