The periodic transient characteristics of pulse loads can cause continuous impact effects on the ship integrated power system
leading to oscillation instability and even off-grid shutdown of diesel gener-ator sets in specific frequency bands. To address this issue
first
an overall dynamic mathematical model of the pulse load and its power supply circuit was established using the state-averaging method
and the key influencing factors of the pulse load was identified on the system. Second
the overall transfer func-tion of the system under pulse load disturbances was established
and the oscillation power frequency range where continuous impacts of the pulse load cause instability of the diesel generator set was deter-mined. In view of the differences in the impact characteristics of the pulse load current on the system un-der different operating conditions
the improved fast Fourier transform was used to identify the frequency and amplitude of the pulse load current. Finally
an impact mitigation architecture for the ship integrated power system with an additional doubly-fed flywheel energy storage system was designed. Based on the transfer function between the pulse load current and the AC-side current
an energy storage compensation strategy based on the identification results of the improved fast Fourier transform was proposed. Using the RT Box 3 hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform
a ship integrated power system model with a pulse load was built to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
