A non-road high pressure common rail diesel engine was taken as the research object. Based on the results of piston temperature test under rated condition
finite element simulation model of piston with different thickness of thermal barrier coating was established. The influence of thermal barrier coating on the distribution characteristics and change rules of temperature field
thermal stress and thermal deformation of the piston matrix was analyzed. Research results show that
the maximum temperature of the piston with thermal barrier coating decreases by 14.83% compared with the aluminum alloy piston. The thermal stress of the piston with thermal barrier coating decreases when the ceramic layer thickness increases
and it decreases by 42.44% compared with the aluminum alloy piston. The radial thermal deformation of the piston in the direction parallel to the axis of pin hole is greater than that in the direction perpendicular to the axis of pin hole
and the difference in the magnitude of the change results in uneven thermal deformation of the piston.
