Most of the turbocharged engines are equipped with a charge air bypass valve to control surge. In order to reduce cost and weight of the engine
an antisurge strategy was developed by controlling the throttle closing speed based on a turbocharger without charge air bypass valve
which was verified by the vehicle test. Results show that the strategy could effectively eliminate the surge of the turbocharger without charge air bypass valve.
