the injection-production pipes undergo severe corrosion and subsequent failure under service conditions involving the combined effects of multiple factors
namely high temperature
high pressure
and high Cl~- concentration.However
systematic comparative data on the protective potential of laser-clad coatings in such environments remain lacking. In this study
the corrosion resistance of four typical laser-clad alloy coatings was compared in a simulated salt-cavern environment.316L

and INCONEL625 cladding layers were prepared on Q235 steel substrates and subjected to corrosion tests in a simulated dynamic circulating brine environment of salt caverns. The corrosion behavior and passive film characteristics of each coating were evaluated using weight-loss method
electrochemical measurements
and Mott–Schottky analysis. The results show that the INCONEL625 coating exhibits the best corrosion resistance
with an extremely low co
rrosion rate and no pitting occurrence. Its superior performance is attributed to the dense passive film formed by high Cr/Mo contents and the electrostatic repulsion effect of MoO
