To meet the demand for super-large coal storage facilities in new
expanded
and renovated thermal power plants
this article focuses on the structural design study of a 50 000 m3 coal storage silo for a thermal power plant.By researching and analyzing its process and structural layout schemes
a finite element analysis model was built
and three silos with different diameters were structurally selected
calculated for stress
and economically analyzed. This helped determine the stress patterns of the silo as a whole and its components under various load conditions such as self-weight
stored material
wind
earthquake
and temperature
as well as carry out structural reinforcement and component design. The results show that the 50 000 m3 coal silo with a diameter of 40 m has reasonable stress
