the typical four-split JL/LB20A-500/45 and JL/LB20A-720/50 aluminum-clad steel-cored aluminum-strand tension towers of 500 kV transmission lines are taken as the research objects. The method of combining theoretical qualitative analysis with quantitative calculation of examples is used to deeply analyze the mechanism and distribution law of the installation tension of the grounding wire. The research shows that with the increase of the representative span
the installation tension of the cooling method decreases obviously. When the representative span is constant
the tension decreases with the increase of design wind speed and ice thickness. If the tower designed according to thicker icing and larger wind speed is used in light ice
ice-free or low wind pressure areas
the installation tension of the conductor ground wire may be seriously underestimated. This is the fundamental reason why the standard design tower fails to fully cover the actual engineering conditions.Based on this
the optimization suggestions are put forward for the common phenomenon of "replacing small with large" in practical engineering
so as to avoid construction safety hazards and save engineering investment.
