With development of large-scale renewable energy base built in deserts
Gobi and desertification
the VSC-HVDC has become one of the recommended solutions for large-scale renewable energy long-distance transmission. Therefore
focusing on the stability issues of large-scale renewable energy island transmission systems via VSC-HVDC
this paper analyzes the mechanisms of synchronous stability
energy balance
and wideband oscillation. Novel stability controls are proposed such as coordination control of renewable energy and VSC-HVDC
coordination control of energy-consuming devices
additional damping control
and impedance adapter. Through electromagnetic transient simulation
it is verified that the proposed stability control method can be adopted to effectively ensure the stable operation of large-scale new energy via VSC-HVDC transmission system
which has certain reference value for the construction and operation of large-scale new energy via VSC-HVDC transmission system.
