For typical loop closing and power transfer scenarios in active distribution networks
where significant voltage magnitude and phase discrepancies at the loop closing point prevent direct connection
flexible loop closing technology based on a flexible loop closing device enables flexible connection by decoupling and controlling voltage magnitude and phase in real time
significantly enhancing the safety and power supply reliability of loop closing and power transfer. However
existing flexible loop closing devices mainly suffer from large spatial footprints and high costs. Therefore
this paper changes the excitation voltage acquisition method of the excitation transformer in the thyristor controlled phase-shifting transformer (TCPST)
and increases the auto-transformer winding and thyristor voltage regulation and polarity control circuit. A flexible loop closing control device based on New Dual-Core Controllable Phase-Shifting Transformer (NDCCPST) is proposed
and the flexible loop closing research of active distribution network is carried out. Firstly
this paper investigates the structure and operating principles of the flexible loop closing control device based on the NDCCPST and develops its equivalent model. Secondly
a flexible loop closing control method is then designed. Finally
case simulations are conducted in MATLAB/Simulink
and the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed flexible loop closing device and its control method are validated through RTLAB hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
