To realize the complex grounding fault detection and fault development dynamic perception of distribution lines from single point to multi-point and single line to multi-line
and to ensure the power supply reliability under multi-point grounding fault to the maximum extent. This paper proposed a method of independent tracking of ground fault current and multi-point multi-line ground fault detection in a distribution network based on line as the basic detection unit
as well as the coordination method of arc suppression and line removal for complex grounding fault. Based on not being affected by the neutral grounding model and asymmetric line parameters
the independent calculation and fault development tracking of any line single or multiple grounding current are realized by the numerical decomposition operation of the line zero sequence current. A proposed multi-point
multi-line grounding fault line selection method based on grounding current as the calibration deviation signal. The fault phase discrimination and transition resistance calculation are given when the number of grounding points differs
and the fault detection efficiency is improved without comparing the information between lines. To maximize the power supply reliability of multi-point and multi-line grounding faults
a coordination scheme of arc suppression and protection under complex faults is proposed
aimed at reducing the number of line trips based on ensuring the power supply's safety. The simulation results show that the method is simple and effective
which provides a new method for fault detection of transmission lines in the distribution network.
