Abstract
Advanced Adiabatic Compressed Air Energy Storage (AA-CAES) has the advantages of large capacity
zero carbon emission
and long life and is widely used in grid-side participation in peak regulation. With the gradual increase in the share of new energy generation in the system
AA-CAES must have a wider power control range and stronger flexible support capability. The AA-CAES compressor is prone to poor dynamics
such as surges when operating under wide conditions
which limits the adjustment range of the energy storage capacity. Based on the thermodynamic characteristics and coupling relationship of the storage subsystem in the AA-CAES system
the model of wide operating conditions is established. The model considers the storage subsystem's partial load characteristics
safe operating limit
and control action characteristics. On this basis
the feasible operating range of the energy storage system under constant pressure and variable pressure operating modes is described. Then
an AA-CAES operation mode is proposed to deal with the influence of variable operation conditions. The boundary conditions and power range variation rules of the operationally feasible region of the energy storage system under three different operation modes are compared. The influence of environmental factors and key parameters of the energy storage system on the operationally feasible region of the energy storage system is analyzed
which provides theoretical support for improving the flexibility of AA-CAES in different operating scenarios.
