Floating wind turbines are typically deployed in deep-sea regions where typhoons occur frequently
leading to complex dynamic behaviors and significant wind-wave-current interactions. These factors pose substantial challenges for accurate load analysis. To address this
this paper proposes a differentiated multi-component load analysis methodology for floating wind turbines under typhoon conditions based on fully coupled wind-wave-current simulations. First
to capture the rapid and intense energy exchanges during typhoon evolution and to overcome the limitations in accurately simulating marine environmental conditions
this paper develops a refined coupling approach integrating finite volume coastal ocean model (FVCOM)
simulated wave model (SWAVE)
and weather research and forecasting model (WRF) models. Second
recognizing that different components of the turbine are subject to distinct environmental forces
this paper constructs a component-specific load prediction mode that accounts for heterogeneous environmental influences. Furthermore
to assess the transmission of external environmental loads to internal mechanical components
this paper derives a load transfer mechanism based on the Paris model
and a joint reliability analysis framework for internal and external components is established. Simulation results demonstrate that the loads on the blades
tower
and gearbox are most sensitive to changes in wind speed and direction. The mooring tension is more significantly influenced by waves and less affected by ocean currents. Variations in wind speed have a substantial impact on the reliability of each component.
