This paper proposes a thermal field calculation method for deep-sea permanent magnet synchronous motors (DSPMSMs) considering the deep-sea high-pressure environment
which aims to solve the issue that the current thermal field calculation method can not balance the accuracy and efficiency of calculation. The change of the fluid field in DSPMSMs affects the temperature field calculation. The change of fluid field in DSPMSMs will affect the temperature field calculation. Given that the deep-sea high-pressure environment alters the fluid properties
this paper first explores the change law of fluid properties under different pressures and analyzes the effect of high-pressure environment on the fluid field accordingly. Then
the calculation of viscous drag loss and internal end-surface heat transfer coefficients for the fluid field in DSPMSMs is explored. Subsequently
based on the analysis of the fluid field
a compu- tational fluid dynamics (CFD) method combined with the finite element method (FEM) method is proposed for the calculation of the thermal field of DSPMSMs. Finally
the accuracy and superiority of the method are verified by comparison with the traditional CFD method and experimental validation.
