In the system of thermal-storage type compressed air energy storage (CAES) coupling solar energy and wind energy
in order to better match the heat required by the CAES system and the heat provided by solar energy
and to solve the problem that the thermal-storage type CAES system has a limited working range for absorbing fluctuating renewable energy
this paper proposes a new pressurized- recycled compressed air energy storage (PR-CAES) system. Thermodynamic analysis of two recycling modes (energy storage recycling mode and the energy release recycling mode) of PR-CAES system is carried out by using Aspen Plus software. A thermodynamic model with multiple energy flow inputs is established based on the exergy parameter. The effects of the two modes on solar energy absorption and output/input power are studied. Results show that the power output of the system is increased by 11.24% and 11.83% respectively compared with that of the system without recirculation loop under the design working conditions. It also shows that the system has high efficiency
with the round-trip efficiency under the two modes is 72.41% and 74.2%
respectively. The sensitive analysis results show that the parameters have similar effects on the system performance between the two modes. Under the two modes
the system efficiency decreases with the increase of energy storage pressure and increases with the increase of energy release pressure. There are optimal solar collector temperatures under different energy storage pressures
corresponding system exergy efficiencies are 72.31% and 72.58% respectively
and the system round-trip efficiency is 78.66% and 74.3% respectively. Finally
the distribution of exergy destruction of the system is comprehensively revealed
providing reference for further system optimization.
