Coplanar discharge has genered considerable attention due to the uniform distribution of plasma across the dielectric surface. However
traditional coplanar discharges encounter challenges such as high ignition voltages and complex fabrication processes. A non-flat surface discharge array comprising high-voltage and grounded capillary electrodes is proposed. The plasma characteristics of non-flat surface discharge
driven by repetitive pulses
are investigated through both experiment and numerical simulation. The results indicate that the energy and luminosity of the single pulse discharges gradually diminish to a steady state under the sequential pulse voltage. Furthermore
it is found that increasing the pulse repetition frequency leads to a decrease in the residual charge on the dielectric surface during the pulse intervals
resulting in more pronounced suppression of subsequent discharges. Increasing the pulse rise time
fall time and flat top width effectively suppresses the luminous intensity of discharge plasma. Numerical simulation results also demonstrate that the repetitively pulsed discharge gradually weakens to a steady state due to the influence of residual charge on the dielectric surface.
