Fault-tolerant operation can be realized by adjusting the current amplitude and phase after a winding open-circuit fault occurs in a motor
but the influence of the voltage residual on fault-tolerant operation is not considered. This paper proposes a fault location and fault-tolerant control compensation method based on the voltage residual for open circuit faults in dual three-phase motors. Firstly
the faulty phase is located based on the characteristics of the y-axis voltage residuals corresponding to the faulty phase and the healthy phase. Subsequently
the post-fault voltage vector offset is analyzed
and a global voltage vector compensation strategy is proposed in combination with a fault-tolerant method based on current control to further reduce the torque pulsation in fault-tolerant operation. In particular
for the process between the occurrence of a motor fault and the switch-over to the fault-tolerant algorithm
the residual-based voltage compensation method is utilized to suppress the torque fluctuation under faulty motor operation. Finally
experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately locate open-circuit faults
ensure smooth operation during the transition phase through voltage compensation
and further reduce the torque pulsations of fault-tolerant operation.
