To enhance the output torque and improve the efficiency of the synchronous reluctance motor
a 12/10-pole segmental rotor synchronous reluctance motor (SR-SRM) is proposed as a potential solution. Based on the study of the phase distribution law of synchronous reluctance motor winding
this paper derives the constraint formulas for the number of stator poles and rotor poles applicable to synchronous reluctance motors with concentrated winding. The torque characteristics of the motor are modelled analytically using the Fourier series form of ideal inductance. The findings indicate that an increase in the amplitude of the self-induced AC component of the phase winding results in an enhancement of the motor's torque. Subsequently
the SR-SRM is simulated and analyzed in comparison with a conventional synchronous reluctance motor. The aim is to investigate the differences in electromagnetic performance parameters
such as inductance
output torque
and efficiency distribution
between the two motors. The findings indicate that the torque and efficiency operating characteristic curves of SR-SRM exhibit superior performance in comparison to those of conventional synchronous reluctance motors. Therefore
the SR-SRM achieves enhanced torque output and operational efficiency. Finally
an experimental prototype is constructed and tested. The simulation and experimental results collectively validate the correctness of the proposed theory and design methodology.
