Modern power systems are characterized by high penetration of renewable energy sources and power electronic equipment
with insufficient frequency control capacity. Grid support from the load side is urgently needed. Electrified rail transportation possesses potential grid support capability with high power level in a short period. In this paper
the differential dynamical model and operating constraints of rail transportation are established for system frequency support. The discrete-analytical hybrid-driven trajectory optimization method and the trajectory tracking control method considering different input characteristics are constructed. The single-train controllable flexibility and the multi-train coordinated grid support capacity are evaluated. Finally
the T2G (train-to-grid) support model
theory
and method are applied to varies system frequency control scenes
validating the feasibility and effectiveness of the presented T2G frequency support theory and method.
