This paper focuses on the new generation smart substation technology. The present situation of the smart substation are summarized firstly. Then the definition of new generation smart substation is introduced and the important technical features are analyzed in details afterwards

including the optimization of main electrical wiring and the application of new disconnecting circuitbreakers

the integration of primary and secondary equipment. At last

the paper makes a summary of the technical features and its practical application. It is believed that the new generation of smart substation technology is based on the original smart substation technology
