In order to solve the problem of optimization design for cavern shape and caverns layout of salt rock gas storage
the deformation reinforcement theory is developed and improved into deformation stability theory. The relation curve of plastic complementary energy versus strength reduction factor
K- relation curve
is used as the global stability criterion of cavern cluster. On the basis of deformation stability theory
the global stability of caverns with different shapes and layouts is quantitatively assessed. The shape and layout of caverns are optimized; and then the most stable and safe cavern shape and layout are obtained. The results of study indicate that the deformation stability theory pro vides practical and effective theory and method for the optimization design of cavern shape and caverns layout of salt rock gas storage.
