The Hongshibao landslide lies in Badong bulk plant area

and it is one of the key landslidetreatment engineerings in the Three Gorges Reservior. Based on long-term monitoring and analysis of internal horizontal displacement and seepage pressure

it shows that there is shallow slow deformation in slopeⅠand Ⅱof Hongshibao landslide

which is affected by rainfall; and the deformation is not obvious in deep layer. The landslide is still under stable condition when the Three Gorges Reservoir impounds from June 2003. However

it has a serious threat to the stability of the landslide that reservoir water level continuously raises and frequently changes in different seasons. Therefore

it should strengthen monitoring and pay more attention to dynamic development of landslide for ensuring safty.
