The permeability and diffusion are employed to analyze the retention mechanisms of clay-solidified grouting (CSG)curtain to contamination in landfill. Its permeability and diffusion capacities of CSG curtain to heavy metal cations are obtained by column test. Using 1D flow and transport model which can take convection and dispersion of wastes into consideration
the contaminants transport process through CSG curtain is evaluated. The test results show that the permeability and the diffusion capacities are different for different heavy metal cations; and transport velocity of cadmium is more quickly than lead. It is found that the most important factors affecting the transport process of heavy metals include the thickness
