A stress-strain-time function of saturated over-consolidated clay is presented; in which a modified hyperbolic function is adopted for stress-strain behavior and a power function for strain-time behavior. Through introducing over-consolidation ratio and brittleness Index
not only strain hardening stress-strain-time behavior
but also strain softening stress-strain-time behavior can be simulated by it; so that it is more universal than strain hardening stress-strain-time function. Through simulation of computed curves by different models and test data of constant strain ratio test
such a generalized function is proved to be reasonable.
