Fracture initiation and its extention are analysed based on the theory of linear elastic fracture mechanics of rock. The effect of non-penetrated region of fracturing fluid on fracture extention pressure is briefly discussed. The feasibility of interwell communication by concurrent fracturing is explored. Finally
the application prospects of this research are discussed.
