A new approach to LED color image segmentation based on Gaussian function was proposed.By using color component value and carring on the filter through the Gaussian function template

the two value image of the useful numerical information could be attained directly.It changed the traditional methods of analysing after transfering color image to gray image.It fully used the color information.Facts show that this approach is fast and simple

that it can meet real-time demand

and that the segmentation effect is nice

so it is an efficient new algorithm.
