Effect of Ca and Mg added amount on ultrafine pulverized coal combustion was studied on a thermo-gravimetric meter. It was found that demineralization obviously reduced ignition temperature
raised burnout rate
decreased activation energy and improved ultrafine pulverized coal combustion characteristics. When the amount of CaO and MgO added was low
it had little effect on the combustion characteristics. When CaO and MgO concentration reached a certain value
CaO had an inhibition effect against the coal ignition
while MgO promoted the ignition of demineralized coal and raw coal
but restrained the combustion of fixed carbon. It was also found that the maximum weight loss rate and the maximum weight loss temperature decreased observably as the content of MgO was increased to 20%.And the burnout rate was only 73.33% of the raw coal.
