In order to optimize the flow field distribution in wet electrostatic precipitator system for a pulverized coal-fired 330 MW unit boiler
five arrangement schemes for baffle plates have been designed. The computational fluid dynamics(CFD)method was applied to carry out numerical investigation on distribution characteristics of the flow field in flue gas inlet cross section
in different baffle plate arrangement schemes. The results show that
the gas straightening gratings could decrease the angle between the gas velocity and the vertical direction. The flue gas flow in different electric fields could be changed via altering the screen porosity of perforated screens. The scheme in which the perforated screens are installed at the inlet duct and the gas straightening gratings with perforated screens are installed on the top of the device ontology is the optimal one.In this optimal baffle plate arrangement scheme
the relative standard deviation of the flue gas velocity at the inlet section of the collecting plates is 0.138
which is superior to that of the design requirements(0.25).
