To prepare a magnetic activated carbon with both good magnetic properties and high-efficiency
the co-precipitation method was applied to produce the activated carbon based MAC with different ion ratios and magnetic contents. Moreover
the MAC was characterized by BET surface areas measurements
vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)
scanning electron microscope(SEM)
X-ray diffraction(XRD)and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).It turns the MAC with mole ratio of Fe~(3+)to Fe~(2+)of 1∶1and the magnetic content of 25% had well magnetic division performance and mercury removal property. The effect of flue gas components on the MAC's mercury removal performance was experimentally studied on a benchscale fixed-bed test rig.The results show that
γ-Fe_2O_3 is the main magnetic materials on the MAC.The mercury adsorption capacity of the MAC gradually improved as the O_2 and HCl concentration increased. The SO_2 had no obvious effect on Hg0 removal. The presence of water vapor significantly inhibited the mercury adsorption.
