Experimental investigations on co-combustion of shale with Zhundong coal were carried out in a 100 MW unit boiler. From the aspects of fuel characteristics
coal fineness and uniformity
flue gas temperature change
slagging and contamination in furnace
heat loss
boiler thermal efficiency and fuel cost
the operation security and stability of the system was evaluated. The results show that
after blending the shale and greatly increasing the proportion of Zhundong coal
the fuel particle size increased a little and the eveness got worse
the exhaust temperature showed a trend of declining volatility
the slagging and contamination in furnace is not obvious
the combustible content in fly ash sharply reduced
and the boiler thermal efficiency was enhanced by about 1%.
